Zlatan Pošip, Zlatan Crljenak, Zlatan Otok, Zlatan Opol Rosé, Zlatan Prošek... Are the golden wines of Zlatan Plenković, one of the most praiseworthy vintners for the great boost of Croatian wines in the last 30 years.
In fact his Zlatan Plavac was the first to show that Dingač and Postup are not only heaven-sent for this sort, whilst with Zlatan Plavac Grand Cru, from the selected grapes from an old vineyard, he has, for ten years, shown all other Dalmatian vintners what Plavac can give.
The Zlatan Otok winery on Hvar cultivates Plavac Mali and the white sorts Pošip, Bogdanuša, Maraština and Yellow Muscat, and Plavac Mali, Crljenak (Zinfandel), Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Pošip, Žilavka, Dubrovnik Malvasia, Chardonnay and Yellow Muscat in Baška Voda. From the windy position at the foot of Biokovo also come the white and red wines Zlatan Ostatak Bure.
The sister company Vinoline, near Šibenik, has a vineyard with Plavac, Babić, Crljenak and Pošip, whilst the Zlatan Otok winery is successfully run by Zlatan’s sons Marin and Nikola.
