Livio Benvenuti and his sons Albert and Nikola from Kaldir, a place on the hill across from Motovun, are multiple winners of acknowledgements at Vinistra for the best Malvasia. This is due to the father and sons’ great love of grapes and wine, as well as the excellent location where they have their vineyards. They are at a great altitude, between 350 and 400 metres above the sea, and on the white Istrian land which gives the wines a unique minerality.

Malvasia is the basic sort and in the base of the sweet house wine, which is called Corona Grande, with Muscat and an old local sort. The San Salvatore Muscat also has an exceptional sweetness.
Many good wine connoisseurs have praised the Terans in the Benvenuti wine cellar. They mature for 24 months in wooden barrels and so they develop long-standing wines, which in the bottles, in good conditions, with age just get better and better. Not older…
