In Taverna in Diklo near to Zadar they make a superb cuttlefish brudet stew.
Cuttlefish is cuttlefish, and there is nothing to add or take away from it, but the sauce is excellent. You can sense every ingredient, and not one is overpowering. And it simply cries out for a glass of fine wine.

On the wine list are 22 local wines, and with the exception of two good Pošip wines from the newest wineries, the idea was clearly to offer wines which every guest knows, including foreigners. Two beers, local and imported are on offer. The draught and bottled beers cost the same.

On offer are a range of cold and warm dishes, fish, cephalopods, crabs, and shellfish.
Next a range of pasta, risotto, white and red meat amongst which are the must-try hamburger and mixed meat. It is interesting that the rump steak and veal liver have the same price.
One great detail is that they also make pancakes to take away. They prepared them that way for at least one guest.

For decades Taverna has been a popular gathering place for the famous from Zadar's business and public life, as well as all those who want to feel the spirit of the Mediterranean on their plate, on the beautiful beach by the clear sea.

The oldest part has been traditionally laid out, in stone, and the new part is modern, with a terrace almost on the seashore itself. From the sea there is a narrow car park and from there is a splendid view of the Zadar channel and the island of Ugljan.

The beautiful little tavern with its long tradition is located right on the waterfront in the Zadar village of Diklo.
It offers a large selection of fish and other seafood delicacies on lavish sea platters, which many guests praise. Due to great interest, it is best to reserve a table on the terrace in advance.
