If you are into desert islands, peace, quiet, being far from civilisation and with very few people, then you will definitely not visit Vodice, one of the most significant Croatian tourist centres. If, on the other hand, you like dressed-up people, night clubs, mingling, music, dance, and top quality food all in one place – book your table at Makina as soon as possible!

Why as soon as possible? Because this is the centre of the town, the main promenade, and there is no way you will miss seeing someone or someone will miss seeing you. Makina is the centre of jet-set and, the best part is, if you wish to continue your night out after a meal or a snack you will not have to walk far – the other part of Makina is a night club!
But let us go back to food. Makina is a universal restaurant offering everything – from fish, pizzas and pastas, to a rich offer of meat dishes. Its terrace is spacious, comfortable, all in wood, and you are immediately lured in by a wonderful scent of pizza coming from the earth oven. The taste is nothing short of the scent – a crispy crust, rich filling, just the right amount of everything. Couvert is properly done: large, real tuna with local capers, solid and tasty. The wine of the house could be better but there are some thirtyish interesting items on the list and the crispy pogača bread is almost perfect – ah, the earth oven.

Makina’s speciality is peka (iron lid), or rooster, seafood, veal or just bread thermally processed under it. The octopus made under peka is terrific, aromatic, crispy yet slightly tough, in a delicious sauce and with fresh vegetables – tasty onions and tomatoes and fine, purple coloured potatoes. Of course, there is an abundance of classic Mediterranean and continental specialities, in particular a wonderful selection of Adriatic shellfish. Something for everyone.

The menu is elegant, all is neat and with no particular objections, with a wonderful view of the street and marina, as well as of hundreds of people strolling and enjoying the warmth and beauty of the Mediterranean – this place is ideal for all those who do not wish to sweat on their way from the beach to the apartment, as well as for those who want to warm up before a party. If you like to spend your summer holidays partying and to see and be seen - Makina is a place you will not leave. It's party time!
