Frank Sinatra’s singing with his backing band oozes from the restaurant, birds gently hum from the park with a gentle accompaniment of the river running several meters from the terrace, and the plate that lures you with lamb chops with vegetables fried in butter. And vegetables are not instant ready-made, as peppers and zucchini also arrive on the plate.
Nicely decorated tables with elegant glasses are an eye-catcher of the restaurant of Karlovac hotel Korana Srakovčić. The second thing is a various offering of dishes in the menu whose author is obviously a fan of wild game, quail and quail eggs in particular. There is a good choice of other meat dishes as well. Most are prepared classically, and only some, like steak with cherries or turkey symphony with exotic fruits show the chef’s playful side. There is a basket with three types of fine bread on the table and olive oil is also nice. The menu includes a considerable amount of dishes made of squids, cuttlefish, and octopus, and there are a lot more sea water than freshwater fish. They offer trout and salmon although the terrace lies on the river after which both the hotel and the restaurant were named.
There are three menus in the restaurant’s special offer. These are based on steaks, pork fillets, and trout, and each contains a soup, a salad, and a dessert. There is a special offer of dishes for children called Pokemon, Digimon, and the Princess, and a very fine selection of desserts among which worth mentioning are flambéed bananas and fried pineapple, as well as pancakes with ice cream and forest fruits.
A selection of wines is good. All in all, a good offer and a delightful ambiance, especially on the terrace, will entice the guest to return.
